Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September. 21 in 1983) is an acclaimed American actress. She is most famously known for her role was the character Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV show and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington from Ohio dropped out of high school in order to move in Los Angeles after her divorced parents divorced. As she struggled financially, she was able to land her first acting gig as the title character in the online video show Rachel's Room in the year 2001. The TV film Murder in Greenwich that she appeared in, where she played a 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for the Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford was the main actor in Lost in its two initial seasons. In 2004 she received the Screen Actors Guild Award with the entire ensemble. Leaving the series Grace was keen to work on film more frequently, having played opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. She was in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 as well as Taken (2008) opposite Liam Neeson. Her role was reprised in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played Shannon on the finale and in two additional episodes. In 2013, she appears in the episode Californianation of the 6th season. She plays Faith who is both a star-gazer and groupie. Being part of the Gyllenhaal Family, she is the daughter and elder sister to actor Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager She began working as a small part-time actress for her father and appeared in Donnie Darko along with her twin brother. The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was nominated for the Golden Globe Award in both the romantic comedy Sherrybaby (2005) and in the romance comedy Secretary (2002). Both films were critically acclaimed. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008 after several highly successful films including World Trade Center (2006) which brought her greater recognition, was a huge success for Gyllenhaal. The film was nominated in the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role on the film Crazy Heart, (2009). After that, she went on to appear in comedy films along with dramas, such as Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) as well as Will Not Back Down (12). Her other roles included Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013 Action thriller), actors in Frank (2014, drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018), and her role as the Kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal debuted as a writer and director in 2021, with her psycho-drama The Lost Daughter. For this film she was awarded the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and received nominations for the Academy Award.
